Karmi vows ongoing follow-up on detained Islamists

The leader of the Karama Movement, Deputy Faisal Karami, spoke about the issue of detained Islamists, emphasizing that the implementation of the Constitutional Court's decision must be based on the legal circumstances of each case without false interpretations. He explained that there are three main situations concerning the death penalty: cases where the sentence remained unchanged after issuance, cases where the sentence was reduced from death to life imprisonment, and cases where the judiciary annulled the death sentence and ordered a retrial. Karami stressed the importance of accurately calculating the detention period for each case according to its legal situation, and of releasing those who meet the conditions, while continuing to follow up on the cases to ensure that everyone receives their rightful justice.
