IRGC Navy: Tanker Attempted Unauthorized Crossing of Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian Navy and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that a oil tanker, intending to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, had turned off all its positioning and navigation systems since departure. The vessel attempted to bypass the unpermitted southern route of the strait, leading to a collision and a fire in its engine after striking a naval mine in the southern area of the strait. They confirmed that Iran will respond firmly to ships that ignore navigation rules and turn off their systems, and strict measures will be taken against violators.
