Iran alters Hormuz rules targeting Trump

Reuters has revealed that Iran has begun implementing a new military strategy targeting ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, aimed at keeping oil prices high and influencing the upcoming US midterm elections in November. The strategy includes changes in the frequency and methods of naval attacks, such as adopting different offensive techniques and expanding operations to the Gulf of Oman and more distant maritime areas, with a noticeable increase in attacks on oil tankers and commercial vessels. Iran's objective is to hamper US efforts to reduce oil prices, with threats to fully close the Strait of Hormuz, a vital passage for about one-fifth of global oil trade. This escalation heightens tensions in the region and raises risks to maritime navigation and the stability of global energy markets.
