Lebanon’s pre-reform bank loans
The funding allocated to small and medium-sized enterprises in Lebanon faces challenges and requires new financing mechanisms outside of traditional banks, with the goal of enabling companies to expand and sustain themselves amid difficult banking conditions. There is also a need to organize small business accounts, provide guarantees, and present clear financial data to ensure access to funding. Additionally, financial reforms—particularly in the electricity sector—are to be reinforced to restore confidence and facilitate project financing that creates jobs and helps economic recovery.
