Netanyahu calls for ID of Egyptian intel visitor

A report has revealed that the file concerning Egyptian Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel's visit to Israel before the October 7, 2023 attack has once again come to light. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged Kamel's visit but emphasized that he had not met or spoken with him. Sources indicated that Kamel visited Israel on September 26, 2023, during which he warned of an imminent large-scale attack that Hamas was preparing for. It remains unclear whether this warning was communicated to the Israeli political leadership. Netanyahu denied receiving any contact from Kamel, raising questions within Israel about the nature of the communication and ties between the Egyptian agency and Israel prior to the attack. Several press reports suggested that the visit served as a warning message regarding Hamas's preparations for a major assault.
