Impact of flood on the cause
The article discusses the three-year anniversary of Operation "Al-Aqsa Flood," which targeted Hamas resistance fighters and resulted in profound changes in the regional and international landscape. The operation was characterized by a large-scale offensive; it was executed in the early hours of October 7, 2023, revealing security vulnerabilities along the Gaza Strip borders, which allowed military infiltration into areas near Tel Aviv. The operation helped rally international public opinion and sparked increased support for the Palestinian cause, particularly through United Nations resolutions calling for the cessation of Israel's legal presence on occupied territories and for Palestine's full membership in the UN. It also led to a decline in Israel and Western countries' confidence in their leadership, disrupting normalization efforts such as the Deal of the Century. Moreover, it prompted Arab and European nations to broader support for the Palestinian cause, expanding external solidarity and exerting pressure on Western and Israeli governments. Consequently, this operation altered the course of the conflict, influenced international and Israeli stances, and placed the Palestinian issue at the center of the global political scene.
