Cyberattack hits cooling systems in French stores

The French authorities have announced that cyberattacks targeted cooling systems in hundreds of supermarkets, leading to increased temperatures inside refrigeration equipment and disruption of operations for numerous retail chains. Approximately 700 stores out of ten thousand in France were affected. Although food supplies are currently not at risk, the attack threatens food security and serves as a warning to the government and supply chains. Investigations are ongoing to assess the damages, while Danfoss clarified that most of the affected systems were outdated versions not receiving security updates, and the company is currently working to contain the data breaches and minimize damages.
