Makhzoumi Calls for Firm Border Actions

Representative Fouad Makhzoumi stated that the explosives issue is not an isolated security incident. Nearly 200 additional kilograms of explosives were seized at the Lebanese-Syrian border, which increases the danger posed by security challenges in Lebanon. He called on the government to hold an urgent exceptional session to discuss the security situation, and to take decisive measures to secure the borders, prevent the smuggling of explosives and weapons, pursue the involved parties, and hold those responsible accountable. He emphasizes that the security of the Lebanese people and the sovereignty of the state require immediate and firm decisions, not just investigations and statements.
