Unexploded bombs and a silent volcano in Galilee raise Israel's alert

An Israeli report stated that an explosion in the Galilee region led to a heightened state of alert in Israel amid fears of thousands of unexploded bombs resulting from three years of war. The army discovered additional remnants of cluster bombs near the site where the students were injured. The area was closed off, and a plan was put in place to identify and classify dangerous zones still containing explosives. Estimates indicate that large quantities of unexploded ordnance, numbering in the thousands, remain in the area. The survey aims to reduce risks to residents and visitors and to prevent organizing new trips to contaminated areas in the near future.
