Rami Naim attacked in Saida alley

Journalist Rami Naim was assaulted by a group of young people in the Hayy Sifa area. Despite the municipal police's intervention to contain the tension and their advice for him to leave, he confronted and escalated the situation. The Hayy Sifa Municipality confirmed that their officers tried to de-escalate the scene, and one of Naim's companions reported that a weapon was brandished at the location, an act considered irresponsible given the sensitive conditions Lebanon is currently experiencing. The municipality called for self-control and wise handling to ensure the safety and security of visitors, and announced that investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible.
