Lebanese prisoners end hunger strike despite amnesty law concerns
Hundreds of prisoners in Lebanon ended their open hunger and medication strike that lasted for 30 days, following a decision by the Constitutional Council regarding the general amnesty law. This decision came after it was found that the explanations provided were not satisfactory to all prisoners, as some believed that the amendments made to the law's provisions affected its core essence. The spokesperson confirms that ending the strike does not mean the cessation of ongoing demands for the rights of the remaining prisoners, and that the struggle will continue until the last wronged individual is released from prison, with expectations that the prison doors will soon open for those benefitting from the amnesty law.
