Iraq suspends civil flights; Al-Zaidi to Saudi Arabia

The Iraqi authorities temporarily evacuated their airspace from civil aviation following the Houthis' attacks on King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, and two Iranian planes were banned from entering Iraqi airspace for security reasons. This escalation coincided with Saudi Arabia announcing 12 deaths and 309 injuries resulting from an attack on Riyadh Airport. Meanwhile, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaydi is preparing for an official visit to Saudi Arabia, which will include discussions on strengthening economic ties, reactivating the joint oil pipeline, addressing de-escalation issues with Yemen, as well as delimiting maritime borders with Kuwait and Iraq’s water rights.
