Trump and Putin agree on diesel supplies
U.S. President Donald Trump announced his agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin to supply large quantities of diesel fuel to the global market, exceeding three million tons, aimed at rapidly and noticeably lowering prices before the U.S. midterm elections on November 3. Washington expects these shipments to contribute to reducing diesel prices, which have increased by about 70% since the start of the war against Iran due to disruptions in global fuel supplies, with the average price in the United States reaching $6.28 per gallon. The statements emphasized the importance of controlling the Strait of Hormuz and Russian supplies, without clarifying the timetable for these operations. The actual impact remains linked to the volume of the shipments and the delivery schedules.
