Red Cross and UN promote local climate policies

The Lebanese Red Cross Society, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Development Programme, organized a national event titled "Towards Climate Policies Closer to Local Communities." The event aims to support the integration of national climate policies into local plans and development efforts, as well as to strengthen the participation of communities and local authorities in climate-related decision-making. The event focused on collaboration among stakeholders to implement adaptation plans for climate change, enhance the capacity of local communities to face climate challenges, and contribute to reducing disaster risks while translating national initiatives into effective on-the-ground actions.
