Iran and France summon ambassadors over student protests

France summoned Iran's ambassador in Paris today in response to Iran's government summoning the French ambassador in Tehran. French authorities accuse Iran of attempting to distort the truth regarding the student protests in France. The French Foreign Ministry confirmed that the materials published by Iran about the protests are false and that summoning the French ambassador is unjustified. These developments come as student protests in France continue for the second week, protesting crowded class schedules and a shortage of teachers. The demonstrations have resulted in the detention of over 6,000 people, most of whom are minors, amid escalating acts of rioting.
