Trump: Russia's plague not linked to bioweapons

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States does not consider the death of an employee at the Plague Research Institute in Irkutsk, Russia, to be related to biological weapons, after she contracted pneumonia and was hospitalized. Meanwhile, Russian authorities conducted thousands of tests and confirmed no cases of plague. The World Health Organization called for more information and noted that the risk of plague spreading outside Russia is very low, amid international concerns due to the nature of the laboratory and the history of Soviet biological programs. So far, there is no evidence linking the incident to a biological weapons program.
