Morocco Rabat Protest for Palestine

Hundreds of activists in Rabat demonstrated in solidarity with Palestine on the third anniversary of the Gaza war outbreak. They called for cutting ties with Israel after Morocco announced it had upgraded its diplomatic representation with the occupation to an embassy. The protesters believe this approach contradicts the stance of solidarity, and they are demanding the cancellation of the normalization agreement Morocco signed with Israel in 2020, in exchange for U.S. recognition of its sovereignty over Western Sahara. Despite the official announcement, anti-normalization associations continue to organize protests rejecting this stance, while the Moroccan government calls for an end to the war without reconsidering its relations with Israel.
