Al-Asmar criticizes new election law distraction

The article focused on Deputy Saeed Al-Asmar's stance regarding Energy Minister Jo Sadi's withdrawal and his role in warning the government about the electricity crisis. He emphasized that the withdrawal is not aimed at a cabinet reshuffle or government fall, but rather seeks to motivate officials to take responsibility for the worsening electricity situation and to settle overdue payments that threaten the bankruptcy of Electricité du Liban. He indicated that the negotiation file is linked to regional developments and that progress will only happen if the state demonstrates seriousness. He also warned that proposing a new electoral law at this time could divert attention from essential issues such as Hezbollah's arms, reaffirming his unwavering position against bargaining on the weapons or the rights associated with them.
