Yemen Government seizes Bab al-Mandab

The Yemeni government forces, led by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, announced the initiation of a broad military operation called "Fajr Yemen" (Dawn of Yemen) with the goal of restoring state institutions and liberating Sanaa from Houthi control. The forces have succeeded in taking control of the Bab al-Mandab area and the Dubal Airport in southwestern Yemen, and have made advances around Dubal Airport in Taiz, with aerial support from Saudi forces that have targeted and destroyed 324 high-value objectives and secured the Bab al-Mandab Strait. This operation is part of efforts to end the Houthi coup and restore legitimacy, involving ground and air forces to eliminate Houthi control over Yemeni territories.
