Pope Urges Prayer for Peace on St. Francis Day
In honor of Saint Francis of Assisi's Feast Day, the Pope called for continued prayer for the grace of peace, emphasizing the importance of healing conflicts and fostering harmony among peoples. He mentioned that Saint Francis transformed the Church through faith and love, urging efforts to mend divisions, and stressed that God does not waste our lives but turns evil into redemption. The Pope linked the story of the saint to a biblical parable about the vine, emphasizing that peace begins with us, and that achieving true peace requires teamwork and sincere intentions from everyone.
