The article focused on the victory of Israeli banker Anton Al-Sahnaoui in a legal battle related to the restructuring of Lebanese banks. President Joseph Aoun filed an appeal before the Constitutional Council against Article 3 of the law. Sources indicate that Al-Sahnaoui played a key role in securing gains for Lebanese banks, with the assistance of Aoun’s advisor, banking expert Farouj Narkizian, who contacted Al-Sahnaoui and left his work in the UAE to provide support to the Presidential Palace. This demonstrates the influence of external and internal parties in Lebanese banking politics, with the likelihood that Al-Sahnaoui successfully protected the interests of the banks amid political and financial tensions.
