Public Security apprehends hostage-taker forcing chants and firing guns

Media outlets circulated news about the arrest of a suspected Lebanese individual who had detained girls, imposed "khoṭṭ" (ransom) on their drivers, and fired shots when not paid. Security forces detained a man born in 1996 named H. Y. (Lebanese), who has prior convictions related to facilitating prostitution and extortion. This followed their ongoing investigation into a case involving the detention of girls by an unknown person. During a search, a knife and two tablets containing cocaine were found, along with a sum of money. The detainee confessed to kidnapping the girls and drivers, coordinating with their exploiters to demand ransom payments for their release, and shooting at vehicles when not compensated. He was found with another individual (a drug offender), and both were referred to the judiciary for legal procedures, as investigations continue to apprehend other involved parties.
