Abdel Massih: Municipal Poster Campaign

Adib Abdel Masih, the Minister of Interior, called for immediate action to prevent the planting of gum trees in Lebanon, which are being randomly planted along roads and among homes due to the environmental dangers they pose. He explained that these trees carry strange diseases and pests that could harm the ecosystem. They grow rapidly and reach disproportionate heights, making them prone to falling, especially during storms. Additionally, their windows and branches are not regularly pruned. He emphasized that these trees are considered forests, not ornamental plants, and their cultivation should be prohibited in residential areas to protect the environment and the safety of residents.
