Teachers' Syndicate Urges Grant Release

The Teachers' Union has called for the immediate release of the 200 billion Lebanese pounds allocated to the Compensation Fund, emphasizing the need to complete the transfer procedures without delay. They pointed out that administrative slowdowns are hindering the disbursement and leading to erosion of its value, thus increasing the financial burdens on the beneficiaries. The union appealed to the government and the Ministry of Finance to include the remaining 450 billion pounds in the 2027 budget, with a clear provision to ensure its disbursement. They stressed that protecting the rights of teachers and retirees is the responsibility of the state and should not be postponed. Additionally, they demanded an urgent timetable for the disbursement of the 200 billion and the inclusion of the 450 billion in the upcoming Budget, while continuing to monitor the implementation of this matter.
