Netanyahu Talks UAE Flight Security
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a phone call with Emirati President Mohamed bin Zayed to discuss ensuring the safety of air traffic between the two countries following an emergency landing of a Fly Dubai aircraft in Saudi Arabia while en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The two sides discussed security cooperation and the necessary arrangements to increase aircraft screening procedures. The UAE agreed to Israeli demands to install additional security equipment, which could pave the way for the resumption of Israeli airline flights to Dubai after a previous ban imposed by the Shin Bet. These developments come as part of efforts to strengthen relations between the UAE and Israel and to enhance the safety of air navigation, while the causes of the incident are still under investigation.
