US missile captured by Russia in Ukraine

The American APKWS II missile, which was seized by Russian military forces, is a precision-guided munition used by Ukrainian troops, especially on F-16 fighters, to intercept Russian drones such as the "Gyran" and "Shahid" models. The missile has an effective range of between 2 and 11 kilometers and is characterized by its low cost, ranging from $15,000 to $20,000 per unit, compared to traditional high-priced air-to-air missiles. It can be launched from various platforms, including helicopters and fighter aircraft, and is currently widely used in military operations in Ukraine. Efforts are underway to develop a modernized version equipped with dual guidance systems (laser and infrared) to enhance its ability to handle larger numbers of targets in less time.
