Info Tech Committee Discusses Electronic Gambling

The Information Technology Committee in Lebanon held a session chaired by Deputy Tony Frangieh to discuss regulating the electronic gambling market, especially the black market. Participants included officials from Casino Lebanon, legal experts, and security agencies. The committee recommended that the Ministry of Finance acquire a "DPI" device to monitor and prevent participation in illegal online gambling. It also called for reaching out to international companies to cease dealings with black-market gambling operators, in order to reduce financial and security violations associated with these activities.
