The town of Maasser el Chouf celebrated Heritage Day at the historical Castle of the Citadel site. During the event, Minister of Culture Ghassan Salame emphasized the importance of the site and its distinguished features, including its discovery over ten years within Lebanon's land, rich with unexplored archaeological sites, as well as the cooperation of local residents with the project and the support for international collaboration between Lebanon and Italy. Excavations uncovered a Roman temple dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages. The site serves as an example of practical and historical collaboration between the two countries, with work beginning in 2022 and leading to the discovery of significant historical structures.
