Switzerland readies security measures

The Swiss Federal Council approved the Security Policy Strategy for 2026, aimed at enhancing the country's ability to face growing security challenges, especially amid the escalating turmoil in the international arena, increased hybrid threats such as cyberattacks and organized crime, as well as protecting critical infrastructure and internal security. The strategy focuses on three main priorities: strengthening resilience, improving defense and protection, and developing defensive capabilities. These are supported by 10 objectives and 46 measures implemented through cooperation between the federal government, the cantons, and the private sector, with the monitoring of the implementation scheduled for the end of 2028.
