Haider advances child labor plan

Minister of Labor Muhammad Haidar held a meeting of the National Committee to Combat Child Labor in Lebanon, during which progress was reviewed on updating the National Action Plan to combat child labor. It was agreed to adopt a new plan that focuses on the vocational sector where many displaced children work. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of collecting accurate statistics on working children and activating the role of the Committee’s observatory, in coordination with civil society and UN organizations, to improve procedures and interventions. Additionally, the discussion included cooperation with the International Organization for Migration in managing migration-related issues.
