Czech Nationals Kidnapping Case Revisited

Lebanese citizen Ali Taan Fiad was summoned by the Lebanese judiciary, after being detained in Czechia since 2014 on charges of arms trafficking. This comes in connection with the kidnapping of five Czech nationals in Lebanon in 2015. Sources stated that the Public Prosecutor's Office interrogated Fiad for a long time regarding the link between this incident and a case involving a detainee in Czechia, under the request of the United States. He was released in 2016 following an agreement for the release of Czech citizens in Lebanon. He was released after the interrogation based on a residence permit.
