French ambassador meets Parliament Speaker and Prime Minister

Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri and the new French ambassador to Lebanon, Patrick Durel, received protocol visits to discuss the developments in Lebanon and the region, and to strengthen bilateral relations between Lebanon and France. The meetings addressed the presence of an international force overseeing the transitional phase after the conclusion of UNIFIL’s mission, France’s role in supporting Lebanon, as well as cooperation in political and field matters. Durel is considered one of the most experienced French diplomats in the Middle East, holds the Legion of Honor medal, and has previously held significant diplomatic positions in the region.
