Traffic restrictions for Zahr El-Bidder road paving

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Lebanon has decided to begin paving work on the International Damour Road between the Sofar Interchange (Hammana Junction) and the Qab Elias Junction starting Saturday, September 5, 2026. The work is expected to last between one and ten days, from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily. The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces will take necessary measures to organize traffic, including prohibiting the passage of trucks and pickup vehicles during daytime hours, allowing them to pass from 5:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Additionally, one lane on the Beirut road from the Baalbek side will be closed, and traffic will be diverted from the Sofar internal road through Hammana, Terchich, Kfarzelen, and Zahle throughout the construction period. The aim is to complete the work in an organized manner, facilitate traffic flow, and reduce congestion.
