Rehabilitation of Hazmieh-Dahr El-Baidar Highway Begins Saturday

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Lebanon has begun implementing the rehabilitation project for the Hazmieh – Zahle – Tleil Road starting Saturday, September 5, 2026. The work includes paving, resurfacing, and developing the section of the road between the Sofar transformer and the Qab Elias intersection, along with temporary traffic measures to regulate vehicle and truck movement during the construction period. Truck, transport truck, and pickup truck passage on the Beirut-Baalbek international highway has been restricted during daytime hours, with permission granted from 5:30 pm to 5:00 am to facilitate the construction work and reduce congestion. Additionally, traffic from Beirut to Baalbek has been diverted via the Trishsh – Zahle route, while vehicle movement from Baalbek to Beirut continues on the international highway from Tleil to Sofar. Daily traffic measures are in place from 5:00 am to 4:30 pm. This plan is part of the ministry's efforts to maintain and upgrade roads across Lebanon.
