Thirteen workers lost their lives and another seven were injured on Thursday after a landslide inside a strip mine in the town of Policarpa, Narino Department, southwest Colombia, caused by the slipping of one of the slopes within the mine. Rescue teams, with the help of firefighters, local residents, and heavy machinery, completed the search operations after discovering all the missing persons around 2 a.m. local time.
