Economy Ministry and Consumer Group Collaborate on New Protection Law

The Lebanese Ministry of Economy and the Consumer Association held a meeting to enhance cooperation in implementing the new Consumer Protection Law. The goal is to accelerate the response to complaints and protect consumers' rights. It was agreed to activate a joint mechanism for receiving complaints through the Consumer Association's dedicated hotline (01750650) and to forward them to the Ministry of Economy for necessary action. Additionally, complaints will continue to be accepted via the Ministry's electronic application (MoET Digital Services). This initiative aims to strengthen oversight and facilitate communication with citizens, especially with the increase in fines for violators in line with the efforts to combat violations under the new law.
