Riyadh Heads Maritime Security Coalition

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the hosting of an international meeting to discuss the establishment of a multilateral defensive naval alliance aimed at protecting international maritime routes from threats targeting maritime safety and security, especially in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden. The meeting was attended by 43 countries out of the 51 invited, along with representatives from the European Union.
