Myanmar activists face up to 37 years
Courts in Myanmar have handed down prison sentences of up to 37 years to nine activists for their participation in a protest that called for a boycott of the December elections. The sentences revealed that eight of them, including Htet Myint Aung, were sentenced to 37 years in prison, while a ninth activist received a 27-year sentence on charges related to the Election Law and the Anti-Terrorism Law.
