Water Resources: New Barriers to Control Nile Flower in Dhi Qar

The Ministry of Water Resources in Iraq announced the construction of new barriers on the Euphrates and Gharraf rivers in Dhi Qar Province to limit the spread of water hyacinth. The measures include installing barriers near the University of Dhi Qar, Karmah Bani Saeed district, Suq Al-Shuyukh, and Al-Fahoud, in addition to establishing barriers on the Gharraf River north of Al-Rifa'i City and at the inlet of the Shatt Al-Shatra pumping stations.
