Trump seeks Afrikaner refugees amid restrictive policies
Donald Trump plans to impose a limit of 17,500 refugee admissions for fiscal year 2027, prioritizing the entry of white South Africans, specifically Afrikaners. Refugee rights groups criticize the decision as discriminatory, arguing it leaves many already vetted refugees in dangerous situations and undermines humanitarian principles. The policy shift has led to legal challenges and families being indefinitely delayed or stranded abroad.
