IMF revises UK growth forecast upward
The IMF has warned that a potential AI stock market correction could threaten global financial stability, citing high valuations and debt levels in AI companies. Asian markets have already been affected, with significant drops in chip stocks, while the UK’s economy is forecasted to grow modestly this year before slowing in 2027 due to higher energy prices. The IMF also increased its UK growth forecast for 2023 but cautioned inflation and energy costs will challenge economic resilience in the near future.
