The UAE affirms its continued commitment to diversifying energy sources to ensure reliable supplies. The energy sector is being developed through the expansion of clean energy projects, increased efficiency in consumption, and the strengthening of both domestic and international investments. The Minister of Energy pointed out that the renewable energy generation capacity has increased more than 63-fold over the past decade, rising from 129 MW in 2015 to over 8.2 GW in 2025, with the contribution of clean energy reaching 32.4% of electricity production. The goal is to raise this share to 35% by 2031. Projects such as the Barakah nuclear power plant and the Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park are considered fundamental in achieving the country's objectives of reducing emissions and increasing reliance on clean sources. The UAE relies on a long-term plan involving investments of 200 billion dirhams until 2030 to enhance production capabilities, expand international partnerships, and ensure greater supply reliability, with a focus on improving energy efficiency and fostering sustainable development.
