Total, the French company, announced its plans to reduce diesel and heating fuel prices in France starting from November 2026 until the end of January 2027. The goal is to ease the burden of rising energy costs on households and businesses, especially farmers, fishermen, and construction companies. Diesel used for transportation will be decreased by about 10 cents of a euro per liter, representing an overall price reduction of 6.2%, with current prices ranging between 1.60 and 1.65 euros per liter. Additionally, Total participated in distributing a portion of France’s strategic diesel reserves, which the government decided to release as part of efforts to curb fuel price increases amidst global pressure on energy supplies caused by shipping disruptions and attacks on oil refineries. The company invested around 500 million euros to support a price cap on fuel within France, aiming to maintain its market share and offer lower prices at its gas stations.
