Germany joins NATO's nuclear drill
The German Air Force is participating in NATO's "Steadfast Noon" exercise held in Italy, with the aim of enhancing defensive capabilities using nuclear weapons. Three Tornado aircraft will be transferred from bases in Germany to Aviano Air Base to take part in the exercise. It is believed that these aircraft are stored with American nuclear weapons as part of NATO's "nuclear sharing" concept. The maneuver aims to test the Alliance's ability to rely on nuclear weapons for regional defense.
