IEA Suggests Considering Additional Diesel Reserves

According to the International Energy Agency, member countries are being asked to assess the need to increase diesel reserves and explore the possibility of releasing additional quantities, in order to address energy supply disruptions resulting from tensions in the Middle East and the ongoing war. So far, 325 million barrels have been released out of the 400 million barrels that countries committed to since March, with around 200 million barrels of diesel remaining in emergency stocks. This call comes amid concerns over potential deterioration of oil supplies, especially in vital sectors such as transportation, agriculture, and industry, as countries prepare to use their reserves if needed, without making a final decision on additional releases at this time.
