During his meeting with businessmen and businesswomen at the Eastern Chamber, Minister of Investment Fahad Al-Safeev stated that the Eastern Province is one of the main pillars of the national economy. The expected gross domestic product (GDP) of the region by 2025 is approximately 1.47 trillion riyals, and it has contributed about two trillion riyals to the kingdom’s fixed capital. It was also emphasized that the region accounts for around 38% of foreign investments in Saudi Arabia, with foreign direct investment flows reaching 57 billion riyals in 2025. The region hosts approximately 11,000 active investment licenses, most of which are in construction and manufacturing sectors. The minister highlighted the importance of diversifying investments and transforming opportunities into active projects. He affirmed that the region is well-qualified to serve as a national platform for industry, mining, and logistics services, in addition to regional expansion and export activities. The minister also focused on supporting national companies and connecting small and medium-sized enterprises with opportunities and supply chains. He praised the role of chambers of commerce as a vital resource for addressing the private sector’s needs, all aimed at boosting investments and developing the economy in the Eastern Province.
