Zelensky Warns Budget Crisis Endangers Drone Plans

The Ukrainian budget is experiencing a deficit exceeding 23 billion euros, which threatens the funding needed to purchase the drones essential for supporting the war effort against Russia. President Volodymyr Zelensky explained that failing to request and receive the funding in October and November will lead to significant problems in January and February. More than a third of the funding gap is allocated for drone purchases in the first three months of 2027. Zelensky called on the European Commission to expedite the disbursement of payments from a 90-billion-euro loan available since April, as the Ukrainian army is using drones to target Russian oil facilities in order to disrupt Moscow’s war funding.
