Chinese CXMT advances with affordable memory chips

Chinese company CIMMIT, specialized in manufacturing DRAM memory chips, has announced that its new fifth-generation technology platform has entered mass production. The goal is to produce memory chips that are more powerful, more affordable, and energy-efficient. The new technology employs advanced manufacturing techniques, such as quadruple patterning, to increase chip capacity and reduce the distances between storage elements. This allows for more chips to be produced from the same amount of silicon. The first products, labeled LPDDR5X, with a capacity of 24 gigabits, now hold 50% more data than previous generations.
