Kingdom detains 11782 for residency violations

During the period from September 10 to 16, 2026, the Kingdom conducted field campaigns to apprehend violations of residency, work, and border security regulations. These efforts resulted in the detention of 14,782 offenders. The violations included 7,438 cases related to residency regulations, 3,782 violations of border security laws, and 3,562 breaches of labor laws. Additionally, 1,450 individuals attempting to cross the borders into the Kingdom were caught, with a high percentage of Yemenis and Ethiopians among them. Furthermore, 25 individuals trying to cross the borders unlawfully from outside the country were also apprehended. Nearly 19,000 violators were referred to the relevant authorities for further procedures, and 12,635 individuals were deported. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that facilitating the entry, transfer, or shelter of violators exposes involved parties to penalties of up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching one million riyals, along with the confiscation of transportation means and assets. The Ministry also urged the public to report violations through designated channels.
