Kingdom detains 14,782 for legal violations

From September 10 to 16, 2026, field campaigns were carried out across all regions of the kingdom to arrest violators of residence, work, and border security regulations. These efforts resulted in the detention of 14,782 violators. The violations included 7,438 individuals violating residence regulations, 3,782 for border security violations, and 3,562 for work violations. Additionally, 1,450 people were apprehended while attempting unauthorized entry, most of whom were from Yemen and Ethiopia, and 25 individuals tried to illegally cross the borders to exit. A total of 12,635 violators were deported. Those facilitating the illegal passage of violators face penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of one million riyals, and the confiscation of transportation and housing. The ministry urged the public to report violations through designated emergency hotlines.
